South Island Consignment was founded by local equestrians Lucy Minkley and Cayden Roden. Our goal is to create a reliable, community-based consignment option for equestrians on Vancouver Island.

As riders ourselves, we understand how quick tack rooms fill up. On top of that, how expensive this sport can be! We saw the need for a trustworthy alternative to scattered online listings. Our goal is for the community to have a place to go to not only buy but also have somewhere you can trust to sell your high quality items.

Lucy Minkley

Hi, I'm Lucy! I've been involved with horses for over 25 years and am a proud dressage diva. I currently ride a 7-year-old Friesan cross named Esperanza, and many of you may also remember my previous horse, Rio, a bold Canadian gelding.

Ive been thinking about starting an equine consignment store for a long time, and I'm finally in a place in my life to make it happen!

With South Island Equine Consignment my goal is to bring equine consignment back too the Victoria area and make buying second-hand equestrian apparel, gear and equipment easier, more accessible, and community-focused.

Cayden Roden

Hi, I’m Cayden! I’ve been involved with horses since I was 10 years old, growing up in the hunter/jumper world. Horses have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and as the owner of two horses myself, I truly understand both the passion and the financial commitment that comes with this sport. After spending so many years in the equestrian community, I’ve seen firsthand the need for a reliable consignment business. In a sport that can be incredibly expensive, I am very excited to build an accessible and trustworthy consignment option back in the Victoria area!
